restoring a relationship with God.

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Psalm 51:12

Being able to maintain a strong, healthy, and intimate relationship with God is probably one of the hardest things to do as a Christian. Each hardship that you have faced in your time, God has allowed to happen. You might be thinking, “If God really loved me, then why would he allow me to go through this?” God allows these obstacles to happen in your life so that you may look to Him. If you really think about it, He gives you reason to search for him and build your relationship with Him. You just need to take the opportunity.

As a young Christian I struggle with keeping myself on fire for God. Each day I long to get my relationship with Him back to where I felt my spirit craving to know Him and His word more and more. My spirit longs to get back to that point and continue growing from there and not letting my fire burn out. I know this world isn’t getting any better and I know that I need to get myself back to that point; unfortunately, I never do anything about it as much as I say and want to. If this disappoints and hurts me, imagine how much more it hurts my Heavenly Father. By prayer, meditation, worship, and most importantly reading my Bible, I am more than positive God will see my genuine heart and begin to work in me once again. He knows who I am, and I know who He is. He longs for me as much as I long for him, even more actually.

If you seek to restore a relationship with God, I encourage you to begin the process. There is nothing better in this world than that. It’s a struggle, but trust in Him. We can do this together. Reading His word, praying and meditating. Restore your relationship and give in to your craving for Him.
